Enhanced State Plan Update

The Utah Division of Emergency Management is undertaking an update to the 2019 Utah Hazard Mitigation Plan! This plan will reassess each area of the state’s vulnerability to natural hazards and identify actions that can be taken to minimize property damage and improve life safety before hazardous events occur. To kick off this planning process, we would like to hear from you! The purpose of this first survey is to collect information from the public to better understand the risks and vulnerabilities within each area of the State and solicit input on needs to best mitigate or reduce the impacts of hazards before they occur.

This information will be used to inform next steps of this 4-phase process – Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment. Our public outreach goal through this process is to keep the public informed and seek input early on and often. Some of the upcoming opportunities to give your input will likely include online surveys, in-person and online listening sessions, and opportunities to review the draft plan. To stay involved and hear about upcoming opportunities to engage, enter your email at the end of the first survey and check in often at hazards.utah.gov for project updates.
